DIY Turf Installation Step by Step Guide

Step #1

CUT YOUR TURF TO SIZE

Once you have completed your granular base, you will want to measure the area and cut your artificial turf to size.You want to double check your measurements before you cut your turf to ensure no wrong cuts.

Step #2

SECURE YOUR SEAMING CLOTH

When you have all of your turf laying in the proper area/direction, you will set up your seaming cloth to complete your seams. Your seaming cloth should be big enough to span the entire seam. To keep it from moving on you when you apply the glue, you can spike it down in the corners.

Step #3

TIME FOR GLUE

When ready, you will open your glue container and pour glue onto the seaming cloth. As seen in the photo, you will spread the glue on the seaming cloth to ensure your artificial turf has lots of glue to adhere too. *Ensure the glue does not dry before you put the artificial turf on*

Step #4

CLOSE YOUR SEAM

Once the glue is spread, you want to put your turf together and finish your seam. Take your time on this step, it is the most important. Keep the turf as close together as possible to hide your seam.

Step #5

FINAL STEPS

The final step to ensure your turf is not shifting on you is to spike down your turf. You will spike down all of the edges. *Ensure you stretch out the turf to avoid any lumps*. Lastly, you want to power broom in your infill to allow for beautiful turf.

AfterCare

Keep your new turf looking fresh with simple routine care. Brush the fibres occasionally to maintain their upright appearance, remove leaves or debris as needed, and give the surface a light rinse or turf cleaning agents to keep it fresh and ready to enjoy for years.
